Burn Permits Are Required
Now Through May 15, 2024
Debris burn permits are required now through May 15, 2024, for leaf and brush piles. Online ermits can be obtained daily from 8:00 am to 11:00 pm for any size leaf and brush burn pile. For larger broadcast burning, call the Division of Forestry at 877-350-BURN (2876) Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Permits are issued only when conditions are conducive to safe burning. If you live within city limits, check with your municipality for additional restrictions before you burn.
A list of materials not allowed to be burned can be found at the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation website.
Call 1-888891-TDEC to report illegal burning. Visit BurnSafeTN.org for additional tips to burn safely and to protect your community.
One of the things I enjoy the most about Perry County is the people. The people of Perry County are very resilient, very resourceful, and we've had a lot of really good partners through the years who have contributed to our growth and economic health. Enjoy your visit in our website, and look around at all we have to offer. If you can't find it, we will help you get what you are looking for. Use the contact form to send us a note, let us know how we're doing or what we're not doing so we can improve your experience of our community.
