On May 11, Gov. Lee signed the Tennessee Works Tax Act (SB275/HB323), the single largest tax cut in state history, to provide more than $400 million in savings for Tennessee families and businesses while supporting future economic growth. The legislation includes $273 million for a one-time, three-month sales tax holiday on grocery items to direct relief for Tennessee families from August 1 through October 31.

Incumbents who ran unopposed and were re-elected include County Mayor John Carroll (1,722 votes), County Trustee Shane Copeland (1,827 votes), Sheriff Nick Weems (1,698 votes), and Circuit Court Clerk Joy Breeding (1,804 votes).
Terry Hill received 1,755 votes and will be the new Register of Deeds in her first run for office to fill the vacancy of Patricia Bell who is retiring. Hill was unopposed.

Launch of Online Scheduling Improves Ease of Use
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee will begin registering Tennesseans aged 65 and older and those in Phase 1b of the state’s COVID-19 Vaccination Plan COVID-19 for vaccinations on Feb. 22. Phase 1b includes staff members of kindergarten through 12th grade schools and child care facilities.
