Tennessee to Begin COVID-19 Vaccination of Adults Age 65 and Older, Teachers
Launch of Online Scheduling Improves Ease of Use
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee will begin registering Tennesseans aged 65 and older and those in Phase 1b of the state’s COVID-19 Vaccination Plan COVID-19 for vaccinations on Feb. 22. Phase 1b includes staff members of kindergarten through 12th grade schools and child care facilities.

Authorities in Tennessee have issued a warning against picking up folded dollar bills after one was found containing a substance that tested positive for fentanyl.
The Perry County Sheriff's Department issued the warning on June 9 after they say two separate incidents of folded money found on the floor at a Perry County gas station were reported.

Perry County residents and property owners in the southern end of the county will soon have a new convenience center for household waste disposal. The center at the intersection Woods Prong Road and Highway 13 South is about a month away from opening, according to County Mayor John Carroll.

Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine Approved For Ages 12 and Up

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Department of Health today announced it will begin administering the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to children ages 12-15 years. This is following the decision by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) to recommend to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that the Pfizer vaccine be made available to administer to children ages 12-15 years. The vaccine is safe and effective in preventing COVID-19. Prior to this decision, the Pfizer vaccine was only approved for individuals age 16 and above.
