Who can use SCATS?
South Central Area Transit System (SCATS) is not just for the elderly. Any age can take advantage of our low fares to get where you need to go. Need a ride to town to buy groceries? Have a doctor's appointment? Business at the Courthouses? SCATS is here to help you get there and back, and you do not need to be a senior citizen. This service is for those who need help getting around.

Be sure to call at least 24 hours ahead of schedule so your trip is in our system. Call for times, as they may change due to Coronavirus precautions. To allow for Coronavirus precautions, we do have seat limitations in a given bus to allow for social distancing, and a mask is required at all times you are in the van.

SCATS goes just about anywhere you need to go, offering curb-to-curb services. Outside the County? Yes! We offer transportation services to as far away as Lebanon, east of Nashville, and as far west as Memphis, all with various rates. Please check our rates list below.

Nashville Routes
Perry County Public Transportation will be adding a 2nd route to Nashville. This route will leave the Linden Senior center at 10:30am Monday through Friday. The route will stop in Hohenwald at 11:00am for appointments from 11:15am to 1:00pm. The bus arrives in Columbia for appointments from 12:00pm to 2:00pm and on to Nashville for appointments from 1:00pm to 2:00pm.
The bus from the first route will leave Nashville and head back at 12:30pm. Anyone with a morning and afternoon appointment will be able to catch the 2nd bus back. This will accommodate our VA patients with appointments from 10:00am until 2:00pm. They could ride the first bus in and the second bus home.

arrives in Hohenwald at 7:30pm for early appointments
Columbia appointments 9:00am - 10:00am, pick ups in Columbia at SCATS Transportation Office
Nashville appointments 10:00 - 11:00am (if not done by 12:20pm, can ride back on 2nd bus)
