At the banquet on Thursday evening, Perry County UT Extension ANR Agent Amanda Mathenia was honored with the Association's Extension Agent of the Year award., Amanda was nominated and selected by UT State Forest Management Specialist Dr. David Mercker (pictured presenting the award), Dr. Wayne Clatterbuck, and Candace Dinwiddie.
Agent Mathenia also received a custom Biltmore stick, used to cruise timber and assess board feet, with a bronze plate engraved with her name.
The meeting's agenda was packed with educational opportunities. The Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge in Springville also gave attendees an opportunity to view native wildlife, listen to rare songbirds, and learn about the history of the refuge while exploring a scenic nature walk along the Kentucky Lake shoreline.
